This is a committee of distinguished executives, seasoned industry professionals, and academia whose expertise spans the entire information technology gamut. The extraordinary members of the advisory board are:

M N Vidyashankar
Chief Electoral Officer & Former IT Secretary, Government of Karnataka
Shri. M N Vidyashankar is the chairperson of this year's board for Great Indian Developer Summit. He is presently the Chief Electoral Officer, Government of Karnataka, and flag bearer of the Information Technology ecosystem in Karnataka, India. In his role as IT Secretary of Karnataka from October 2006 to April 2007, Shri. Vidyashankar steered the software and service exports from Karnataka, despite political turmoil and poor infrastructure, to a whopping 44% of the country's total IT (information technology) and back-office services exports of around $40 billion (Rs1.58 trillion). Besides IT, Shri. Vidyashankar also held the post of Secretary for Biotechnology, and Science and Technology. While at Bangalore Development Authority, he was instrumental in implanting the e-Pragathi project aimed at creating multi-utility kiosks across the city for the payment of utility bills.

Dr. Rangachar Kasturi
Immediate Past President, IEEE Computer Society
Dr. Rangachar Kasturi is the Douglas W. Hood Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of South Florida. He received his BE (Electrical) degree from Bangalore University, India in 1968 and MSEE and Ph.D. degrees from Texas Tech University in 1980 and 1982, respectively. He was a Professor of Computer Science and Engineering and Electrical Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University during 1982-2003. Dr. Kasturi served as the President of the International Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPR) during 2002-04 and as the President of the IEEE Computer Society during 2008. He has served as the Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence and the Machine Vision and Applications journals. He is a Fellow of the IEEE and a Fellow of IAPR. He was a Fulbright scholar during 1999. Dr. Kasturi's research interests are in computer vision and pattern recognition. He is an author of the textbook, Machine Vision, and has published numerous papers and research reference books. He has directed many projects in image analysis, video sequence analysis and pattern recognition.

Vijay Anand
Vice President, India Development Center, Intuit
Vijay Anand is the head of Intuit's presence in India. He has over 20 years of software product development experience in the US and India. Prior to joining Intuit, Vijay was VP for the Server Technologies Division at Oracle Corporation in Bangalore, where he was responsible for leading the Fusion Middleware R&D organization in India that delivers cutting edge innovations across the Fusion Middleware stack including the JDeveloper/ADF developer tool, SOA Suite, Identity Management, Business Intelligence, WebCenter, Content Management and related technologies. In addition, Vijay was also the operational head for the Server Technologies division in India that includes the Oracle Database, Enterprise Manager and Fusion Middleware Development teams. Vijay's key accomplishments at Oracle included putting in place a strong senior engineering leadership team for Fusion Middleware Engineering in India and delivering several complete components of the new Fusion Middleware 11g platform. Prior to his tenure at Oracle, Vijay was VP and Managing Director for Sun Microsystems India Engineering Center (IEC). Under Vijay's tenure, IEC grew to become Sun's largest R&D center outside the U.S. Earlier he held product leadership positions at iPlanet (a Sun/Netscape alliance), NetDynamics, Transarc and IBM Corporation. He holds a U.S. patent for his work on distributed application server architectures at NetDynamics, a pioneer in the space of Java application servers. Vijay has an MS in computer science from University of Arizona and an MS in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai.

Ramesh Loganathan
Managing Director, Progress Software India
Ramesh Loganathan is presently Vice President (Products) and Managing Director of Progress Software in India, responsible for leading the product development at the India Development center. Prior to taking the above position, Ramesh was Vice President of Middleware Technologies at Pramati, responsible for driving the product direction and the Technology Consulting business. Ramesh has been with pramati since 2000, heading Product Engineering until 2004, and then helped setup the team (for Progress Software) that built the Sonic Workbench on Eclipse, eventually transitioned to Progress Software- India. Ramesh is an accomplished Technologist and evangelist regularly speaking at workshops and seminars in India. Has been active in Tech fora, JCP and SPEC organizations. Member of several Standards Expert groups including J2EE 1.3. Co-founded ebXMLIndia.org and hyd-eclipse.org, and organizes BarCamps and Startup events.

Dr. Venkat Subramaniam
Founder, Agile Developer Inc.
Dr. Venkat Subramaniam, founder of Agile Developer, Inc., has trained and mentored thousands of software developers in the US, Canada, Europe, and Asia. He has significant experience in architecture, design, and development of software applications. Venkat helps his clients effectively apply and succeed with agile practices on their software projects. He is a frequent invited speaker at various international software conferences and user groups and a Great Indian Developer Summit Alumni. Venkat is author of .NET Gotchas (OReilly), coauthor of 2007 Jolt Productivity Award winning book Practices of an Agile Developer (Pragmatic Bookshelf), and author of Programming Groovy(Pragmatic Bookshelf).
